1958 - Surveyed the community's need for Homemaker Service and presented the findings to the Lincoln Community Council.

1959 - Established a plan for charging fees for casework services.

Received a grant to purchase land at 1133 'H' Street from the Woods Charitable Fund.

Sold the property at 228 South 10th Street to Nathan Gold's Mid-Town Development Company for $40,000.

Ground breaking and beginning of excavation at 1133 'H' Street.

1960 - Established a plan for the purchase of shoes for needy children.

Dedication of the new building and open house at 1133 'H' Street.

Named a committee to report the community's attitude concerning unwed mothers attending elementary, junior and senior schools.

1961 - Surveyed the need for free school lunches for needy children.

1969 - Started developmental child care program.

1972 - Initiated first day care home training program in Nebraska, third in the nation.

1974 - Adopted Open Door Health Advocacy Center which provided referrals for free, or reduced cost health care to low-income persons.

Adopted Medical Transportation Program to provide transportation to health-related appointments for the elderly and disabled.

1975 - Began sponsoring the Child Care Food Program, offering child care providers consultation, training and reimbursements to ensure nutritious meals and snacks are offered to children.

1977 - Began School's Out before and after school child care program in Lincoln elementary schools.

1978 - Started WIC nutrition program.
