You May Not Have Heard About Us, But We Need Your Help
Family Service has been helping Lincoln families since 1891. Now we are asking for your help.
More than 1,000 kids take part in our fully accredited before-and-after school child care and summer youth programs at 24 of Lincoln's elementary and middle schools. But the number of low-income children in our community is increasing.
More than one-third of the kids we now serve need free or reduced-rate scholarships to receive quality care. In fact, the number of children who need assistance increased by 11 percent in just the last year. Keeping a child safe in our programs for a full year costs $2,535 per child. We expect to spend more than $326,000 in scholarships for these kids this school year, an increase of $30,000 more than last year.
